INDIA'S SINGLES BATTLE ENDS IN CHENNAI

All three Indian singles players in act on Tuesday bit the dust with Somdev Devvarman’s past proving to be the real surprise.

Centre Court at the SDAT centre, Nungambakkam, prove to be a burial ground for the Indian stars on a forgettable Tuesday in the Chennai Open.
The home challenge in the singles fell by the wayside with little known David Goffin providing the largest upset, taking out the nation’s top-ranker star Somdev Devvarman 6-2 6-4 in the first round.

Earlier, Rohan Bopanna gave Stanislas Wawrinka a real run for his money previous to succumbing 6-4 6-4 after Yuki Bhambri had also lost his game to Alexandre Kudryavtsev 6-2 6-1.
